Join us for a community Seed Swap in anticipation of the spring equinox.
This is a free event open to all. You don’t have to donate seeds if you don’t have any, you can come and collect some seeds. The seed swap will be set up in the gallery space at Trowbridge Gardens. The Herb Garden will also be open (entrance on Trowbridge Road) and we will have herbal tea, cakes and some plants for sale. Please bring a cup/mug for tea to help us reduce waste at the event!
Notes for Seed Donations
Put any spare seeds you have in an envelope. If you have lots of seeds you can separate them into different envelopes but we will also have plenty of envelopes to do that too. Label the envelope with the type of seed and variety if you know it, where it’s from (commercial, home collected, not known etc), date collected and any information you have about how it’s grown. You can also include your name if you want to. eg:
Runner bean, Scarlet Emperor. Collected from E8 2020. Tall, pretty red-flowered bean with lots of long pods. Needs lots of water.
Dark red beef tomato, variety unknown. Bought from Fig & Grain E8 2020. Sweet and juicy.
If you have seeds you would like to donate in advance you can drop them off to us at Trowbridge Gardens. We will put a seed donation box out in the big garden (open daily via Chapman Road) from 12th March for you to drop off any seeds. You will find it outside the greenhouse under the sign (see pictures below). You can also email us if you have spare seeds you would like to donate.
