Basic Botany for Foragers

IN-PERSON EVENT

Would you like to improve your herb identification skills, or maybe have a closer look at some of the incredibly fascinating details we often take for granted when looking at a flower or leaf?

Join us for an afternoon of plant exploration at Hackney Marshes, where we'll be looking at a bit of plant science to understand how different herbs (and their uses) relate to each other, and how to use key plant features to help us identify new plants.

As we walk through the marshes, we will look at useful botanical terminology and what a plant's botanical name can tell us, explore patterns and basic diagnostic features of common plant families, as well as other helpful identification keys.

This workshop/ walk takes places outdoors at Hackney Marshes. Max Group size - 12 people.
